About Olivia Chalmers

Doctor Shriley Sherwood OBE, botanical author has one of my paintings in her collection. I studies at Harrow School of Art in the 50’s where I did a foundation course then a further three years in fine art.

I first discovered botanical art in 1993 when I saw an advertisement for classes at The Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew under the renowned artist Annie Farrar.

I continued to have further classes with Annie Farrar and have also taken lessons with Coral Guest, Jenny Brazier and at the Chelsea Physic Garden with Pandora Sellers.

I went to live in Grenada W.I. in 2000 where I taught art to the children in the Anglican School in Sauteurs and gave lessons in my home. The Herbarium at Kew Gardens have three of my Grenadian paintings of fruits.

Royal Horticultural Society medalist.

I belong to many art societies and last year received an award from Artsrichmond for my painting in their biannual exhibition. Imperial College owns two of my paintings. I have sold from art galleries and societies to many parts of the world.
